CSTV Privacy Policy
CSTV is designed to keep your demos, clips, settings, and videos on your device whenever possible. This policy explains what information CSTV and cstv.games use for WeChat sign-in, Steam player identification, and paid plans.
How data is handled
CSTV is a local desktop tool for Counter-Strike 2 players. Demo files, capture settings, media indexes, and generated videos stay on your device by default.
CSTV does not automatically publish your demos, recordings, voice audio, or generated videos.
WeChat accounts and SteamID
When you sign in with WeChat, we receive your OpenID, UnionID when available, nickname, avatar, and other account information needed to create your CSTV account and keep you signed in. CSTV does not receive your WeChat Pay or banking passwords.
CSTV may read the SteamID provided by Steam on your PC or verify your linked Steam account through Valve's Steam OpenID. SteamID identifies the player. It is not used to sign in to CSTV and does not transfer or merge paid plans.
Diagnostics and support
We only receive screenshots, logs, app version, system information, or reproduction steps when you choose to provide them for support. They are used to troubleshoot crashes, capture, sync, and compatibility issues.
Website data
The hosting infrastructure for cstv.games may record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, request time, and referring page. The website does not collect payment card data.
Public pages record page views and download-button clicks to understand which content helps players find CSTV. These event records contain allowlisted page paths, the first landing page, a source-channel category, and a temporary random session ID. They do not store IP addresses, full referring URLs, search queries, account identifiers, or arbitrary link parameters. No third-party tracking script or persistent tracking cookie is used. The ID is held in the current tab's sessionStorage and is not reused after 30 minutes of inactivity. Raw events are retained for up to 90 days. Collection is disabled when the browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. A click does not prove that a download finished or that the app was installed.
Third-party services
WeChat provides sign-in and WeChat Pay services. For paid plans, CSTV processes order numbers, payment status, amounts, timestamps, and the authorization or cancellation IDs needed for monthly auto-renewal. WeChat Pay handles payment accounts and financial credentials under its own rules.
CSTV may also rely on Steam, Valve services, and website hosting providers. Those parties process necessary data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Retention, deletion, and contact
To enforce device limits, free video allowances, and account security, we process a device identifier hash specific to CSTV, sign-in status, recent activity, and video creation task status. We do not upload raw hardware identifiers, demos, or output videos. The app checks the website for updates, asks before updating, and verifies the update signature before installation. We retain plan, order, auto-renewal authorization, and necessary audit records for as long as needed to fulfill agreements, provide support, and handle disputes.
You can clear local databases, logs, and frame captures in the app and delete output videos directly. Use the support center to request access, correction, or deletion of account information and for other privacy questions. Changes to this policy will be published here.
